Blue and Green Fabric should be Seen this Spring, schemes using these colours
Spring is such a beautiful time of year. As the days get longer and begin to feel warmer, blossom appears on the trees, flowers start to bloom and birds tweet merrily outside. To interior and soft furnishing designers, this is the perfect time to think about adding greens and blues to a design colour palette, with the use of fabric.
No doubt you’ll have heard the saying: “Blue and green should never be seen unless there’s a colour in between” but we think it’s time to dispel that myth at Alchemist’s Interior Design. As long as you’ve got complimentary shades of blues and greens, then you can create a stunningly beautiful room.
Take a look at the way the colours blend together in this Designers Guild Cassia image.
Set against the cool brick background, these green hues bring the room to life, just like the greens and yellows do in this Designers Guild Shanghai image.
Both of the images above use emerald green to add glamour, warmth and life to the room.
We love creating colourful soft furnishings with emerald greens at this time of year. As rich green grass grows around us, we like to help homeowners bring a touch of nature inside through carefully selecting the colours that best suit the room and its furnishings.
We also look at the types of fabrics and patterns that would be suitable, and we’re always keen to use the latest trends and the seasonal fashions. With Easter upon us, we can’t help but be drawn to feather, egg and bird fabrics, which all symbolise new life and springtime.
We love this feather and egg fabric print by Vanessa Arbuthnoot. The soft blues work wonderfully with the current trend for cool greys and the design has a quirky edge, which appeals with the fashion-conscious.
We also really like the following bird print fabric by Vanessa Arbuthnott. The colours in the fabric print would also suit cool grey décor, but would bring any cream and burgundy rooms to life.
Beautiful as a blind, curtains, settee or footstool, there are so many ways you can use these fabrics to enhance any room in your home this spring. We feel they’re perfectly suited for conservatories, kitchens and living rooms alike.
All the fabrics and items of furniture you see in the images above are available from Alchemist’s Interior Designs and quotes are available on request. If you’d like to find out more about us and our services, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01908 394308 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
